Awesome recipe!
I could not believe how good this tastes for something so simple. I think the green onions really add something
as well. I could not stop eating these, before they even made it to the table!
Ingredients:
4 slices bacon
1 lb green beans (0.45 kg)
2 long green onions, chopped
Seasoning salt, to taste
Black pepper, to taste
2 tbsp Parmesan cheese (30 mL)
(the kind
in a can)
Instructions:
In nonstick frying pan,
place bacon slices. Put lid on pan, cook
over medium heat, and when underside of bacon is cooked, turn heat off. Wait until it is safe to flip bacon carefully
and cook again over medium heat until the bacon is crispy. Set bacon aside. Reserve bacon fat.
Remove strings from the
green beans and cut into short lengths. Place
in a pot of boiling water and cook until beans are tender (done to your
liking). To bacon fat in the frying pan,
add green beans and green onions and stir fry until green onions are wilted and
the whites of the green onions are cooked.
Somewhere in the middle of cooking time, add the crispy bacon, chopped
into pieces to further flavor the dish.
Add seasoning and black pepper, to taste and continue to cook until done. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese at the end,
toss vegetables, and serve.
