WHITE CHOCOLATE ORANGE CANDIES (AND MY NEW CONDENSED MILK)

Mini Donut pan...it looks bigger in the photo than it is in real life, but the cups are actually small.

WHITE CHOCOLATE ORANGE CANDIES

These candies are delicious.  You can change them up by using different extracts such as lemon or caramel extract. Combining one drop of red food coloring with several drops of yellow food coloring in the candy mixture creates a pretty, soft orange color.  The condensed milk is very tasty...you could use it in a number of recipes that require condensed milk.  If you are a seasoned low-carber, you know what Fat Bombs are!  This is essentially another Fat Bomb recipe.

Condensed Milk mixture (normally, you’d
use vanilla instead of orange extract ) - the condensed milk RECIPE is everything before the food   coloring and cocoa butter)
1/cup PLUS 1 tbsp boiling water (90 mL)
2 tbsp unsalted butter (30 mL)
2 tbsp regular butter (30 mL)
1 cup whole, OR skim milk powder (250 mL)
(see coconut milk powder alternative in Helpful Hints)
Liquid sweetener (sucralose or stevia) to equal 1/cup sugar (125 mL)
3 tbsp powdered erythritol, OR (45 mL)
Splenda or stevia packets (the kind for coffee)
1/tsp orange extract (2 mL)
One drop red food coloring
Several drops of yellow food coloring

2 oz cocoa butter, melted (60 g) - this is part of the candy recipe and not part of the condensed milk!

In blender, combine boiling water, unsalted and regular butter; process.  Add whole, OR skim milk powder, liquid sweetener, powdered erythritol, orange extract, red and yellow food colorings.  Blend until smooth, scraping down the sides occasionally. If it is not smooth, add more water, 1 tbsp (15 mL) at a time.  Add cocoa butter, which has been melted in the microwave oven (about 3 to 4 minutes) or in a double boiler (be careful); blend.  Pour into bonbon cups placed in mini donut pans.  Freeze and keep in the freezer.

Helpful Hints:  I have not tried it, but there is another alternative to milk powder.  Nowadays it is possible to purchase coconut milk powder from Amazon (and this one)...apparently has less of a coconut taste.  Now there is a new product:  heavy cream powder (probably be even better! HERE).
