CHEESY GREEN ONION
AND BACON DIP
This was a tasty dip that my husband and I finished in one
sitting. Technically, this dip should
serve 4 people! We literally made a meal out of it. First time I’ve seen my husband eat fresh
peppers and enjoy them that much. I also served this dip with pepperoni chips. Read in the helpful hints how easy it is to make them.
1 cup grated Mozzarella cheese (250 mL)
4 oz grated Cheddar cheese (125 g)
1/2 cup
heavy cream (125 ml)
2
tbsp sour cream (30 mL)
1
tbsp minced garlic, jarred (15 mL0
1/4 cup chopped
green onions, OR (60 mL)
canned pickled jalapenos, to taste
3
slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
Salt,
to taste
In a nonstick pot, melt cheeses and heavy cream
together. Remove from heat and stir in
sour cream and garlic. Then stir in green onions,
OR jalapenos and keep a few bits for garnishing the top of the dip. Pour dip
into serving dish. Sprinkle with reserved green onions, OR jalapenos and bacon
bits. Serve dip on a large plate with
serving dish in center. Surround the
dish with sliced colorful peppers and pepperoni chips*.
Helpful Hints: *Pepperoni Chips: Line a dinner plate with a paper towel. Place pepperoni chips on the paper towel and
cover with another. Nuke 2 to 3 minutes
depending on the power of your microwave oven.
If you are using green onions and you’d like a spicy dip, simply add a
bit of your favorite hot sauce.
