GARLIC BUTTER LEMON
GREEN BEANS
This is my recipe for my Best Simple Green Beans recipe modified with a fantastic lemon flavor accent! I totally loved it and I am sure you will, too.
Water for boiling
1 tsp salt (5 mL)
11/2 lbs long French green beans (0.68 kg)
(they
don't have strings, but you can use
regular green beans)
2 tbsp butter (30
mL)
1 tbsp
light-tasting olive oil (30 mL)
1 tbsp crushed
garlic (15 mL)
(the
bottled kind)
1 tsp salt (5 mL)
1 tsp black
pepper (5 mL)
2 tbsp freshly-squeezed
lemon juice (30 mL)
In large pot, pour water half way and bring to the boil with 1 tsp salt (5 mL) in it. Cut the ends off green beans and cut into manageable lengths. Add to boiling water. Boil around 13 to 14 minutes, or until tender. Drain in colander over a pot or large bowl.
In large frying pan in butter and olive oil, and over medium heat,
toss green beans to coat in the butter and oil. Add garlic, 1 tsp (5 mL)
salt and black pepper. Continue stirring and tossing gently to combine
over medium heat until hot. Sprinkle with lemon juice and toss to combine.
Serve.
