52 years of Love: "Rescuing Jen's past" Part-2 (This Project's been ongoing for 30+ years!)

We're 67 now. Jen's birth-mother waged war against us, unabated, since our late teens.

Jen's birth-mother spent almost 5 decades trying to punish her for not letting her control her life, for Jen secretly planning her escape from mother in Canada back to Cape Town at age 22, to marry me in 1979. Her tactic? Isolate Jen from her entire family, for everyone to shun her. Sadly that worked, though at first we found ways of her seeing at least her dad occasionally, but by 1994, Jen was totally cutoff from everyone. However, in Aug 1997 Jen had 1 day (just 1 day!) with her dad who'd paid us a surprise visit. She reconciled with her dad, led him to the Lord with tears in his eyes and a beer in his hands, both getting to say: "I love you", "Please forgive me", "Goodbye, as it's likely we'll never be allowed to meet again". That's what happened, though there was 1 surprise phone call, Father's day years later. Jen also reconnected with some cousins and later, in 2023 with her sister shortly before her death from breast cancer at 62. Her dad died during Covid, in July 2021, almost 92. Mother and sister conspired to keep that a secret from Jen. A cousin told Jen 7 months later, around what would have been her dad's 92nd birthday. That's left mother alone, with no remaining allies, bitter, cursing Jen for outlasting her and reconnecting with her extended family, which she, in her paranoia, became increasingly isolated from in an effort to "punish" them too for not rejecting Jen as she'd demanded. The very outcome she'd worked so hard towards, to punish & isolate Jen, deservedly became her fate! Jennifer's successfully survived 2 separate Breast Cancers since age 61 (contralateral) She's now "the last one left standing" at 67 in 2024, successfully staring down mother, outlasting her! What's more, we've been married for 44 years. For 52+ years we've enjoyed a close, warm (continuously challenged) love story. Thankfully, as we start the last 1/3rd of our lives, the self appointed relentless enemy of our love, the evil wannabe Snow-White queen-mother, is finally gone ... vanquished. We're both relieved!
